Seminar "Women free from violence” presented to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

 
In the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, a video presentation was held and published a newsletter with photos and texts dedicated to the seminar held in Sarajevo, November 21 last year. The seminar was organized by the Committee for Gender Equality of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Network of Parliamentarians of Council of Europe “Women free of violence” for the purpose of promoting the Istanbul Convention dedicated to preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. The "Handbook for Parliamentarians" of the Council of Europe, translated into the official languages ​​in use in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was also presented at the seminar.

Mrs. Ismeta Dervoz, member of the Standing Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and the first Deputy Chair of the Committee Gender Equality, as well as a member of the Network of Parliamentarians of Council of Europe, met Mr. José MENDES BOTA, general rapporteur for the problem of violence against women during the first part of the regular session of the Council of Europe. She expressed her deep gratitude because of the manner in which the involvement of our parliamentarians was recognized and valued. They both expressed the hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina will, at the earliest time, complete initiated process and sign and ratify the Istanbul Convention. (End)
